News - 9th April 2016

Star Radio with assistance from Barrette Homes kindly did a easter egg appeal and managed to donate over 100 eggs.

Star Radio

From here we had the opportunity to donate them to ward 34 at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle. This ward helps people aged 18 and over who have been diagnosed with cancer. Opportunities such as this one provided by the beefy Botham charity foundation are invaluable and really provide a boost of moral to everyone who is on the ward. Patients and staff alike.

Here is an email from Christ the Teenage Young Adult Youth worker who wanted to thank the foundation:

"Dear Beefy's Charity Foundation, Just a quick e-mail to thank you and those involved at the Beefy Botham Foundation, Barrett Homes and Star Radio for the generous donations off Easter eggs over the Easter Weekend. As you can well imagine, there is nothing that can compare to chocolate as a way of lifting spirits and putting a smile on peoples faceswell the benefit of this being free chocolate I think slightly widened the smiles! Although the eggs may have been consumed within seconds the kind thoughts are lasting and I can truly say that the donation was fully appreciated by all the patients on ward 34 at the Freeman Hospital (and the staff as well J). Once again a massive thank you to all involved and the continued support you offer to our Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service."

Kind Regards,

Chris Layfield
