£10,000 donation received towards a new Giraffe bed.
The following donation of £10,000 from the Beefy Botham Charity foundation, towards the purchase of a Giraffe bed for the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children has been received, This will help provide a specialised bed/cot which will be located in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
This multi functional unit has a mobile canopy which can be lowered into place to provide a sealed and temperature controlled environment, effectively creating an isolation unit and offers protection to patients who are vulnerable to infection.
Another feature of this bed is built in scales which allows the medical team to weigh the child without moving him/her. This is vital in calculating the correct dosage of treatment drugs.
